Kenna & Max’s surprise proposal at Surfers Beach in Pasagshak was one of those incredible moments where the place, the story, and the people all aligned perfectly. Max had reached out to me months earlier with his plan, wanting to ask Kenna to marry him in one of her favorite places on the island. For her, Surfers is more than just a stretch of coastline—it’s tied to her family roots in Kodiak and holds so many memories.
When the day came, I trailed behind them down the beach (feeling like the world’s happiest stalker with a camera) and watched as Max dropped to one knee with the waves rolling in behind them. Kenna’s reaction was pure joy—bouncing up and down, laughing, and immediately saying yes. After capturing those raw, unforgettable first moments, we wandered along the beach for photos, letting the backdrop of cliffs, driftwood, and the surf frame their story.
To finish, we hiked up the hill where wildflowers were still in bloom, adding another layer of wild Kodiak beauty to their gallery. Between the rugged beach, the golden late-summer light, and their love for each other, it was the perfect proposal session. I feel so lucky to have witnessed such a heartfelt beginning to this next chapter of their lives.
