Some nights, the music just feels bigger than the stage. That’s what it was like with the Lingonberries at the Kodiak Rodeo & State Fair. A Swedish brother–sister duo with voices that intertwine like they’ve been singing together forever (because they have), they filled the fairgrounds with sound that was at once wild, sweet, and a little bit untamed—perfect for Kodiak.
It was such a joy to photograph them in the middle of all that energy. Live music is alive in a way nothing else is—you never quite know what you’ll capture, and that makes every frame electric. When I sat down to edit, I leaned into that feeling, adding film-style light flares that made the images glow with the same golden edge as the music itself.
The Lingonberries aren’t stopping here—they’ll be singing at other venues around town this month, and trust me, you’ll want to catch them. Follow along with their journey on Instagram:@lingonberrieskodiak
For me, this was more than just a project - it was a reminder of why I love the messy, beautiful challenge of photography.
