There’s something so special about photographing a family in their own space — the place where all the real, everyday moments happen. When I arrived at Alyssa and Gunnar’s home on the Coast Guard base, their playroom was warm, full of light, and scattered with toys — the perfect setting to welcome their new baby boy, Colton.


Colton was a dream: sleepy, content, and wrapped up in that newborn calm that somehow makes the rest of the house feel quieter. His big sister McKenzie, on the other hand, was ready for action — showing me her toys, twirling around the room, and making sure her baby brother didn’t steal too much of the spotlight.


A few days later, we took the show on the road for an outdoor session at Pillar with Alyssa’s parents — Colton’s proud grandparents. The fall colors showed off that evening, and the photos turned into a perfect mix of cozy, coastal, and joy-filled family energy.
