Jackie & Donnie’s Unforgettable Outdoor Wedding in Kodiak
Some weddings go exactly as planned. Others? Well, they take a few unexpected turns—but sometimes, those last-minute changes make the day even more special.
Jackie & Donnie’s wedding at the Kodiak Fisheries Research Center was supposed to be indoors, but when they both tested positive for COVID right before the big day, everything had to be reimagined. Instead of postponing, they moved the entire celebration outside—and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

A Ceremony Filled with Love (and Bubbles!)
Picture this: crisp fall air, an intimate gathering of loved ones, and a bubble gun sending little orbs of light floating around as they danced through the reception. It was playful, fun, and felt exactly like them. Their sweet pup was front and center, making sure everything ran smoothly—because let’s be real, no wedding is complete without a four-legged guest of honor.
Forget-Me-Nots & A Whole Lot of Heart
One of my favorite details? Their wedding cake, beautifully decorated with pressed forget-me-not flowers—a delicate, timeless touch that felt like a love letter to Alaska itself. The mix of laughter, a few happy tears, and a whole lot of resilience made this day one to remember.
Despite the last-minute chaos, Jackie & Donnie’s wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are—laid-back, full of joy, and ready to take on anything together.
